Writers' Summer School
Set Free the Muse!

The Writers' Summer School is run by novelist and journalist, Shyama Perera at her home in Kensal Rise, North West London. Within an informal, friendly setting participants hone their skills with structure, story and style through reportage, memoir and fiction. Exercises can be tailored around existing writing projects.  On one morning there will be a master class with a second writer so participants get different perspectives on writing as both a craft and a career.

Workshops run from 10am to 1pm across the week. There is some homework as the idea is to get writers thinking about and developing a single piece of extended writing that will be critiqued (up to 10,000 words) after the course, and returned to you the following week with an assessment of strengths and weaknesses and advice on progressing the work. The total cost for a week of workshops, master class and critique is £375 + VAT. Classes contain a minimum four writers and a maximum six.

Start dates for Summer 2010 are:

Monday July 16
Monday July 23
Monday August 13
Monday August 20
Monday September 3
